Robert Mitas is a screenwriter inspired to create crowd-pleasing action-oriented stories with elements of strong human drama.
Robert is repp'd by Peter Heller at Heller Highwater.
For many years, Robert ran Furthur Films, Michael Douglas’ production company, where he produced the hit Netflix series RATCHED (2020), and three features: WE HAVE ALWAYS LIVED IN THE CASTLE (2019), FLATLINERS (2017), and BEYOND THE REACH (2015).
Robert was born and raised in Burbank, California, and graduated from California State University, Northridge. Robert continues to mentor and support the film program at CSUN. Robert also mentors for screenwriting programs at UCLA and UC Riverside.
When he is not pursuing his love of storytelling, Robert is found on the softball fields of Southern California, coaching his daughter’s fastpitch softball team. Robert also served for six years on the Board of Trustees for Chatsworth Hills Academy, a non-profit, preschool-eighth grade, independent school providing the IB program.
